Trip Introduction

Langtang is the nearest reachable mountain located on the north of Kathmandu. The glimpse of diverse wildlife and vegetation through the dense forest is covered within the trek to Langtang. With Tibet in its border, the native people are also hugely influenced by Tibetan culture. Kyanjin- Ri (4773m) and Kyanjin Gumba (3830 m) are just the examples of the spectacular journey one’s going to have in the Langtang region. The existence of large species of birds, animals and vegetation reflect how beautiful the whole place is to live in.

The massive earthquake of 2015 followed by an avalanche struck Langtang valley too hard and led large number of residents, foreigners and army officers to severe death and loss. The place has still not been capable to return back to its beauty, yet calls out to travelers with a promise to let them enjoy the scenic beauty, whatever is left there and hopes to rise above this huge fall as soon as possible.

Everyone’s contribution and hard- work has already resulted the re- construction of many trails and the visit of new travelers at Langtang. The tea houses, hotels and rest stations are also re- opening to offer best lodging and fooding services to every new people who reach there to lose themselves in the undiscovered beauty of Langtang.

Note: Since the earthquake hit the trails pretty hard, the re- construction is still being carried out and the trek to Langtang will be camp based for some time- being. Once the trail is reconstructed, we will let you know more.

 

Feasibility for Langtang Valley Trek

Best Seasons: Fall, Spring (September, October, November, March, April, May)

Fitness: Fair level of physical fitness, accompanied by some exercises couple of months prior the trip

Difficulties? : Mild risk of altitude sickness possible, proper rest and medication needed.
